I didn't meet anyone who I wanted to go home with, but I did learn a lot and meet some interesting folks. I wish I brought my biz cards!

My Top Takeways - Private Del-icio-us for organizing research - Most of us don't do Hi-fidelity unless pressed to do so - Most sketches are not documented - Lots of companies are hiring - A lot of us get uncomfortable at the user research table (the step hate to love) I had a great time and got to talk with a much broader set of people than I usually do. I agree with Tim in that more discipline was needed in some groups :)

I think 5 minutes was a little too short, but the basic idea was good...just needs some fine-tuning. How about trying 15 minutes per topic/table next time? Also, I'd suggest doing the hiring announcements at the end, just before breaking for final socializing. It's easier to remember which faces to seek out if you've just seen them a few moments ago. Aside from those suggestions, though, another awesome meet-up! Great minds, great people!

Yeah. I've never actually speed-dated before...but, it was a total blast. There are some really gifted practitioners out there; smart people. Good times. My apologies to anyone that was at any of my tables; I think I was a bit of a ball-hog. Blah blah blah. See? See how long this post is? See you all next time, hopefully.

Big Kudos to "coach" Weston - for running the show and redefining what a 'whistle-blower' is... Thanks to the LA Times Interactive group for hosting.

I look forward to meeting some fellow IA enthusiasts who can help me organize my sketch pad drawings into communication tools.
