I have a need for a full time contract PM in the LAX area. This could at some point turn into a perm position but is certainly a long term contract (6-12 months).

Here's what my client is looking for:
You- Smart, organized, entrepreneurial, critical thinker, articulate, forward thinking, multi-tasker, a mobilizer and a very good juggler (figuratively). Able to speak for product development and think on your feet. Analytical and conceptual.

Project Manager
The Product Development Group is looking to establish a project management discipline to coordinate high profile projects with the nation’s biggest Satellite TV provider. This person will be working in the context of a multi-channel experience across different platforms such as web, mobile, and set top box. The solutions include content, e-commerce, and interactive applications while working on with dedicated scrum teams within an agile-based development methodology.

The ideal candidate is someone who is a critical thinker, self-organizing and entrepreneurial as this is a newly formed group and role. While this leadership role will be involved in all facets of projects, there will be heavier involvement in the strategy, ideation, and planning stages. The success criteria for this role will be in the effective mobilization of the initiatives outlined in product development roadmap. This person will be leading cross-functional teams made up of business analysts, product owners, producers, information architects, visual designers, front-end strategists, and web developers. This role will report directly to the Director of Product Development.
Projects
• Project management counterpart representing product development for enterprise projects and road map initiatives.
• Contribute to project management role definition, ownership of backlog, coordination of site optimization and content management development projects.
• Accountable for ideation and planning sessions for all product development initiatives
• Creation of formal project plans, milestones, task lists, etc.
• Secure any resources that are outside of core team
• Ownership of day-to-day issue resolution working with leads
• Pro-active adjustments to overall plan if we fall behind or hit obstacles
• Liaison between product development team, content team, and all other enterprise teams
• Ownership of enhancement and bug lists during testing
• Coordination of external third-party vendors
• Coordinate launch dates for upcoming development sprints
• Contribute to daily development stand-up meetings
• Attend weekly cross-functional dot-com meetings
• Ownership of key processes including monthly offer releases and quarterly offer releases
Communication
• Publishing of meeting notes, action items, and logging key decisions
• Daily communication during testing of consolidated product development and content issues
• Weekly communication of initiative assignments, progress, tasks, issues, health, etc.
• Weekly communication of backlog with prioritization and launch dates
• Monthly communication reconciling initiative progress with overall road map
• Establish communication formats, archives and online repository/tool for all reports
